Katie Savage is mixed media artist and event organizer, with a passion for community. Her art focuses on many mediums, however she primarily creates sculptural installations. Katie is the Art Director of Luvlab Productions, an event company based out of Big Sur, CA. Luvlab produces community events, fundraisers, and an annual music and arts festival called Big Surreal. As a producer of this festival, Katie has conceptualized and co-created experiences with the help of many volunteers. Creating art for the festival with recycled and natural materials whenever possible. Her installation art, as well as other creations, have been featured every year at the festival as well as other events. By mixing natural materials with found objects, the environment has become her muse. Katie’s art often highlights the relationship we have to nature and our planet. Recently, Katie completed a six month artist residency at the Monterey Regional Waste Management District(MRWMD) where she created art from recycled materials. She has her Associates Degree in Visual Communications, and graduated with a Bachelors in Visual and Public Art in May 2017. Katie gains inspiration from hiking, creating with others, and spending time with her family and friends.
